Crimson is a proud sponsor of The Chernobyl Children’s Project (CCP), which provides medical treatment and support to children and families affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster of 1986. Originally organized in 1995 by Boston-area teenagers, the Foundation offers host family housing and medical treatment for children from Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine who suffer from radiation-related illnesses. The Foundation has been officially recognized by Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and former President Bill Clinton and assists an average of 150 children and adult chaperones each year. The New England Medical Center and its Floating Hospital for Children takes the lead in donated care – additional clinical support is provided by Caritas Norwood Hospital, Lahey Clinic, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and Deaconess Nashoba. |
